Creating cover art can be exciting and daunting at the same time. It is equally fun and extremely challenging
at the same time. I was provided with the opportunity in two separate projects.
I illustrated the cover for Hamlet for NAPA (National Academy of Performing Arts).
i drew the map of Denmark to provide a visual background where the play is set. Using King in a card deck to highlight the theme as well as the use of a skull for death and despair.
Hairan Sar-e-Bazaar was the book cover I designed for Harris Khalique. His book on Urdu contemporary poetry with sociopolitical themes.
It was quite a challenge to consume the poetry and to visualise its meaning on one small surface. To this day I cannot explain what I have designed, it was led by pure extinct. I believe in the end of the day i drew what i felt.
